Notes
Things to know before proceeding:
- The server emulator that we will be using to unlock online mode functionality is my fork of Peacock which has its entitlement checks patched out by me. It is NOT and will NEVER be a piracy tool. Do not ask the developers of the server emulator for any sort of help if you're pirating the game. If you have any issues please ask me instead.
- This patch unlocks almost everything in the game in fully functional form. The only things that are currently not working fully is Leaderboards and Contracts Mode. Leaderboards works but will not show steam usernames, instead only showing the times and details. And in Contracts mode, only Contract lookup by ID and featured contracts work.
Getting clean game files from Steam
- *You will need a steam account and the steam client for windows installed.**You don't need to purchase the game
Open Steam on your PC and search for "HITMAN: World of Assasination". Go to the store page and you will see this button:
Press the Download button and wait for Steam to install the free demo to your PC. The demo has all of the content of the full, paid game but said content will be locked. The patch you will install in the next steps will unlock the already-existing paid content for free.
Installing the patch
- *Open your Steam library and look for
HITMAN 3 Free Starter Packin the list.**Then, you will need to right click it, click onManage, and then pressBrowse local files.
It will open the folder where Steam saves all of the HITMAN 3 game files. It should look something like this:
- *Download the .zip file linked in the main rentry.**Extract the contents of the .zip file to the HITMAN 3 folder that Steam opened, the end result should look like this:
How to play the game
All you have to do to open the game is double-click the
HITMAN 3 Launcher.cmd file and wait for the game to launch.You should make a shortcut to this .cmd file and place it on your desktop for added convenience. You can do this by right-clicking the .bat file and clicking
Create shortcut. You can change the shortcuts' icon by right-clicking it, pressing Properties, pressing Change Icon..., pressing Browse... and then choosing the Launcher.exe file that is in the folder where Steam installed the game.You can change your in-game username by going into the
Retail\\steam_settings folder, opening configs.user.ini and modifying the account_name field to whatever you like.How to update the crack
Simply copy and paste the files from the new crack to your game folder, then confirm any prompts that ask if you want to replace a file or not. That's all.
You can update the game itself using Steam before or after updating the crack, it doesn't matter.
